VARIANCE PERMITS
When setbacks cannot be met on building permits and the landowner needs to enter the City's right-of-way, the process of a variance must take place. Click the variance button to the right for a blank application.

SIGN PERMITS

All signs, both wall and detached, erected within the City limits is required to have a sign permit. Signs being erected along Hwy 59 and Hwy 92 must have clearance from the Kansas Department of Transportation. Click the sign permit button to the right for a blank application.

ZONING REGULATIONS



The City of Oskaloosa enforces Zoning Regulations. Residents must apply at City Hall for a building permit for all exterior construction, new construction of homes and remodel construction, all decks, fences, etc.  Contact City Hall for other various zoning regulations and City ordinances.

The Planning Commission meets once per quarter on the third Tuesday of the third month at 7:00pm (unless otherwise necessary) at City Hall, 212 W. Washington Street, Oskaloosa, KS 66066.


DEMOLITION PERMITS
All demolition within the City limits is required to have a demolition permit. There are specific requirements regarding asbestos so make sure to check with City Hall for those regulations. Click the demolition permit button to the right for a blank application.

BUILDING PERMITS

All construction within the City limits is required to have a building permit. This includes fences, decks, garages, accessory buildings, room additions, windows, doors, sidewalks, retaining walls, etc.  Click the building permit button to the right for a blank application.

Fee $50 Residential + $2.00 per thousand value

      $100 Commercial + $2.00 per thousand value
