COURT COSTS:
Municipal Court is held the third Wednesday of each month at 6:00pm at City Hall, 212 W. Washington Street, Oskaloosa, KS. In addition to court fines, each defendant must pay court costs. City Ordinance No. 2013-9-112 establishes such costs at $108.00 effective 04/14/16.
CODE ENFORCEMENT:
The City patrol staff are also in charge of the City's Code Enforcement. Code Enforcement consist of weeds/grass, yard conditions, structure conditions, abandoned vehicles, nuisances, etc. Patrol staff will issue code violation notifications to residences with a deadline for compliance. All non-compliance issues will be forwarded to the City Attorney for court action.
THE CITY OF OSKALOOSA POLICE DEPARTMENT IS UNDER THE DIRECTION OF PAUL K. BOLINGER. PAUL HAS BEEN A PATROL OFFICER FOR THE CITY SINCE 2008 AND WAS PROMOTED TO CHIEF IN 2013. NEW CURFEW ORDINANCE!!! (Effective 06/22/23)
It shall be unlawful for any person under eighteen (18) years of age to loiter, lounge, wander, joyride or play in or upon any public street, alley, public park, square or municipal parking lot or any sidewalk appurtenant thereto within the City after the hour of 12:00 midnight and before the hour of 5:30 a.m.
Exceptions: The curfew restrictions set out in 12-302 shall not apply under the following circumstances:
